We Won In The British Sewing Awards! Thanking You Muchly

Well this past week has been a bit of a whirlwind of highs and lows at Plush Towers. The low is that our heating in the warehouse has broken and it’s been close to arctic. We’re still in hats, gloves and scarves and hoping that Mr British Gas is true to his word and gets us warmed up again TODAY (cross your fingers, or send us a blanket?) but I must say that icicles aside I’ve been riding high on the news that we came away with a few gongs from the 2014 British Sewing Awards. Urban Zoologie Minis Now In Stock

Hello Friends!

I think Ann Kelle’s Monkeys Royal was one of the very first quilt cotton fabrics we stocked, and we still carry it today. “Urban Zoologie” has been a hugely popular collection for us and it’s back, this time a bit smaller, and in my opinion even cuter! The colour palettes have been reworked and I have to say that I’m totally in love with the pink colourway which is contrasted with a soft grey and has a hint of mint (rhyme intended). There are more animals too choose from and some old favourites too. There’s a selection of multicoloured cuties including adorable foxes, chicks, monkeys and owls.

We’re Supporting “Dressability”, Can You Too?

If you’ve been to one of our open days you’ll know that we like to lay on some refreshments and always have tea, coffee and some lovely cakes for you to nibble on. We know people can travel quite a distance to see us and we also know it’s always very welcome to get a brew when you arrive. Everybody is rather glad of the hospitality but so many people are surprised that it’s free and it’s been suggested that we should have a charity box so people can make a donation if they wish. I was more than a little excited to open the post and discover a copy of this month’s Sewing World magazine, I *may* have let out a squeal of excitement and jumped around from foot to foot doing an enthusiastic a happy dance. It’s been a long time coming but I’m thrilled the day has finally arrived and my words are right there in black and white printed on something I can actually touch and flick through, accompanied by photos of some of my favourite plush makes.
